This week on The Couch I travelled back in time to where science fiction was not so futuristic, minimalist, and shiny, but merely ‘sciencey’ made fictitious.

I travelled with Prof. Aronnax upon a voyage to find a mysterious sea-monster. Upon getting thrown overboard in an attack, we discovered that the ‘monster’ was merely a marvellous machine, captained by an enigmatic man named Nemo.
